What is your pricing for legal services?
Prices in effect as of January 1, 2017
Initial consultation for each individual matter and estate planning or business planning checkup $100 for up to one hour. Missed appointments M-F 9-5 are $100; M-F after 5 and Saturday are $200.
Notary traveling to you:$50 flat fee within Winchester/Frederick Cty; all other areas subject to distance.
Will, simple, everything to spouse, everything to children, no testamentary trust– $350

Durable powers of attorney (financial) $200/ Couple with reciprocal $350 for two

Irrevocable trusts are priced on a case by case basis. I do handle life insurance trusts, charitable trusts, special needs trusts. Average cost is $1500.
Trusts include ONE deed for transfer of property. Additional deeds are $75 each.
REAL ESTATE SERVICES:
Deeds of gift or other deeds of transfer are $150 each. If there are multiple lots or metes and bounds property description, additional costs may apply. Client must provide title information for all deeds. We will charge $50 an hour to obtain information not provided by client. This may include telephone calls and travel to Clerks of Court; long distance, fax and photocopy fees additional.
Subordination Agreement — $250.
Deed of Trust — $400.
Deed of Trust, note and subordination agreement package — $700.
Virginia, I have a relationship with a title company that I can recommend; I can prepare your documents for you and review your closing documents. Fee is based upon services rendered, usually paid as part of closing but fees are due regardless. I do act as a settlement agent for closings in West Virginia. Ask for further information.
BUSINESS AND CONTRACT SERVICES:
Business formation, includes Articles of Organization or Incorporation and obtaining Employer Identification Number — $300. Does not include fees charged by the State, corporate record book, corporate record book updates, bylaws or operating agreement or partnership agreements.
Bylaws or Operating Agreement — $500; Simple for solo LLC $350.00
Partnership Agreement — $500, simple. Complex agreements and/or negotiations will incur additional fees to be determined.
Registered agent fee $125 annually. Forwarding mail (other than official SCC mailings), answering queries from creditors and government agencies, telephone calls, and all matters regarding deliveries and summonses are at the hourly rate plus postage and telephone charges.
Contract review, hourly rate — $100 minimum.
Contract preparation — $250 minimum, total rate is dependent on what type of contract, negotiations necessary, other requirements to prepare.
PROBATE SERVICES: $275 per hour. Retainer of $2000 or 2% of estate value, whichever is greater.
GUARDIANSHIP SERVICES: $275 per hour. Retainer of $3000.
Letters on your behalf, any type–$125 minimum charge, fee to be determined based on letter complexity.
Telephone calls, texts or emails on your behalf or with you — $50 minimum charge unless estate or business planning checkup ($100), otherwise hourly rate, subject to flat fee initial consultation. Weekend emails, texts, phone calls are charged at the higher rate.
Consultation on your behalf with your accountant, bookkeeper, financial advisor, insurance agent or other advisor — hourly rate, subject to minimum rate for consultation, telephone or correspondence.
Hourly rate — $275.
Travel on your behalf — to your home, nursing facility, hospital or other location $100 Winchester – Frederick County. Other locations $100 minimum or to be determined based on distance from my office.
Copy fee 25 cents per page; Long distance telephone and postage fees are passed on to client.
Paralegal fee: $50 per hour
